Pigeon Privacy Policy

Pigeon lets you send delayed video messages (“pigeons”) to friends. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account: When you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable user identifier and, on first sign-in only, your name if you choose to share it.
• Profile: A pigeon handle and optional display name.
• Social graph: Friend requests and accepted friendships.
• Messages: Video recordings you send, delivery metadata, and timestamps.
• City location: With your permission, we use your approximate city (not your precise address) so pigeons can fly on the map from your city to a friend’s city.
• Device: Push notification tokens if you allow notifications.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and operate the app
• Deliver video messages to your friends after a flight-time delay based on distance (at least 30 minutes)
• Show in-flight pigeons on the world map using city-level origins and destinations
• Send push notifications when a pigeon arrives (if enabled)
• Process safety reports you submit

Storage and processing

Data is stored with Supabase (database and video storage). Videos stream over HTTPS and are not saved to the recipient’s camera roll by the app.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Your display name and pigeon handle are visible to friends you connect with. Video messages are accessible to the intended recipient after delivery.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Profile → Delete Account). This removes your profile, friendships, messages, and uploaded videos associated with your account.
